The short version
Halyard uses a small number of cookies to keep you signed in, keep your account safe and understand, in total, which pages people read. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not follow you around the web.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Some last only while the page is open, others stay for a set time so the site can remember a choice.
Cookies we need
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms against forgery.
- A security cookie that remembers a trusted device so we can spot a new one.
- A cookie that remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again on every page.
These are always on, because the service does not work without them.
Your order, kept in the browser
While you browse, the asset and amount you pick on a market page are kept in your browser's session storage so the sign-up page can show them. This is not a cookie, it is never sent to us until you act, and it disappears when you close the tab.
Analytics
With your consent we count visits and page views with a privacy-friendly analytics tool. It does not build a profile of you, and IP addresses are shortened before they are stored.
No advertising cookies, no social media trackers, no selling of visitor data.
Our providers
When you verify your identity or pay by card, the verification and payment providers set their own cookies to prevent fraud and complete the step. Those are covered by their own policies, which are linked on their pages.
Embedded content
A page may show a video or a chart from another service. That service may set its own cookies once you press play. We load these only after you choose to.
How to change your choice
- Use the cookie banner the first time you visit, or reopen it from the footer.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but you will be signed out and your cookie choice will not be remembered.
How long cookies last
Session cookies end when you close the browser. The trusted-device cookie lasts ninety days. The cookie that stores your choice lasts six months. Analytics cookies last no longer than twelve months.
Changes
If we add a new kind of cookie we will update this page and ask for your choice again.
